Current Projects
We're currently working on several projects, some ongoing and some for the future. Details of each can be found below!
Isle of Wight Railway Network 1972-1976
Isle of Wight Railway Network 1972-1976 was originally conceived to only cover the Isle of Wight Steam Railway in 1971, as it was when it first operated to the public, to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the opening, but the project grew and the more I researched the history of this, the more I realised that it would be easier to cover the period of 1972-1976, and eventually I decided it would be worth backdating the 'Mainline' section between Ryde and Shanklin to the same period as well. I'm still updating it at the moment, with the latest update adding upgraded roads and road vehicles more in-keeping with the period depicted, as well as adding point rodding and more accurate railway signage. I'm also planning a further update to upgrade the distant trees to come out after this one.
I've also created a 10 scenario pack to complement the route, which is available separately, and mainly covers the Ryde-Shanklin line due to the higher scenario diversity available on this section.
The Castlehurst Branch
The Castlehurst Branch is a fictional 19.5 mile long Branch Line between Locks Green Junction and Castlehurst, with 5 stations en route. It's set in the Midland Region during the late 50's and early 60's, before the line was taken over by dieselisation. Currently the route has track laid and stations built, but little to no scenery between each station, with a lot of work yet to do, such as completing the road network, adding foliage, point rodding and other small details; building each town or village along the route as well as distant scenery. More updates will be given on this route in due course, as progress is steady while other projects take priority. I eventually intend to have three versions of this route available, each set in a different era. The first version will be this one, set in the Steam Era just before dieselisation; the second set in the Blue and Grey era with services very much truncated from previous years; and the final to be set in preservation, with the line thriving on tourists and running services most of the year.
Stenbury Loops
Now Released! This route is intended as essentially a place to watch the trains go by, with scenery extending for about 2.5 miles, although a return loop is included should the player wish to drive the route themselves. Set nowhere or no-time in particular, but based on the multitude of Goods Loops that could be seen on many double track Mainlines up to the 1980's. The diorama features point rodding, telegraph wires, signal wires and a multitude of other details.
Aston Calne Light Railway
The Aston Calne Light Railway is my latest route project. With work on The Castlehurst Branch stalling, I decided that I needed to focus my efforts on something else for a while and come back to that project at a later time, and The Aston Calne Light Railway is the solution to that. Heavily inspired by the Kent & East Sussex and other Col. Stephens lines, the Aston Calne Light Railway is a fictional delve into the light railway genre. The railway was conceived as the Calne Valley Railway, with a grand scheme of linking the market towns of Potsett, Aston Calne and Keswith, but the line had only linked Aston Calne with the mainline at Calne Junction. The line features 4 stations and 2 halts, each with their own character, a brickworks, and heavy gradients mixed with relatively flat running.
I hope you will enjoy it when it is released.
Isle of Wight Network Upgrade V2
The next part of the Isle of Wight Network Upgrade is even more extensive than Version 1. It goes farther than before, with the track rule changed to VP Track, the roads to VP Roads, and the addition of VP Grass to fields. Unfortunately, the route has become corrupted around the Whitwell area, and so I will need to go through every Scenery Tile to find exactly which tile is causing the crashes, or face the alternative of restarting this version.
Other Routes
Other than the above routes, I also have several other routes in the pipeline. These are mostly in the planning stage, with a few progressed further. Updates on what these are will be given in due course.
Scenarios
I'm forever creating scenarios for various routes, some fictional, some fairly realistic. I've already got a few available for the public (please see the 'Downloads' section for details), with more coming in the future.
